Progress Energy offers homeowners a flexible, affordable way to conserve energy, save money and add value to their property.

Our Energy Efficient Financing Program offers market based interest financing to help customers purchase heating and cooling systems, storm windows and doors, insulation and other energy-saving home improvements. You add value to your home - and save money on your energy bill.

The program - which offers fixed rate financing for qualifying homeowners - features:

• loans from $2,500-$20,000
• up to 10 years to repay
• no collateral needed
• no closing costs or extra fees
• fixed rates

The Energy Efficiency Financing Program is backed by Fannie Mae, America's leader in mortgage financing, and is administered as a Energy Loan from AFC First Financial Corporation, a firm that specializes in programs such as this one.

Like the idea of saving energy and money in your home, but aren't sure how to get started? Not to worry - Progress Energy Carolinas has made the process easy. Just take these easy steps toward energy efficiency:

1. Call AFC First toll-free at 1.888.232.3477 to get program details and a list of screened contractors working in your area or get the list from this website.
2. Contact a participating contractor from the list provided. Your contractor will help you choose the right energy efficiency measures for your home.
3. The participating contractor will help you complete a financing application.
4. Once you're approved, you can schedule work with your contractor.

The Progress Energy Energy Efficiency Financing Program is offered by AFC First Financial.  There is no fee to participate in the program other than a one time application processing fee of $50.
