Contractors for Home Energy Improvement Projects

Progress Energy provides a list of prequalified contractors to help you take the guesswork out of getting the work completed quickly. These contractors are not only experts at making energy-efficient repairs and upgrades, they are also trained to help you with the rebates. If you would like to use your own contractor, please have him or her apply to be a Progress Energy prequalfied contractor, to ensure that you receive the rebates associated with your energy-efficient home improvements.

The following prequalified contractors participate in the Home Energy Improvement Program:

HVAC Contractors

  • Eastern North Carolina - the following counties comprise the Eastern Region: Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Greene, Hoke, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Robeson, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Pitt, and Wayne
  • Western North Carolina - the following counties comprise the Western Region: Avery, Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Rutherford, and Yancey
  • Northern & Central North Carolina - the following counties comprise the Northern & Central Region: Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Nash, Orange, Person, Sampson, Vance, Wake, Warren, and Wilson
  • Southern North Carolina - the following counties comprise the Southern Region: Anson, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Richmond, and Scotland
  • South Carolina - the following counties comprise South Carolina: Chesterfield, Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, Marlboro, Marion County, Sumter, and Williamsburg

Insulation and Window Contractors

If you are interested in becoming a prequalified contractor, or are a prequalified contractor requiring additional information, please visit the Contractor Details page.  You must attend a training session as the first step in the process to become a prequalified contractor.
