What payment methods are available with EasyPay?
EasyPay accepts payment from your Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or checking account. Non-residential card payments are limited to $10,000 per transaction and $20,000 per billing period.

Why do you add $12.95 to my Progress Energy payment?
Progress Energy does not receive any of the proceeds of this fee. The $12.95 fee is what EasyPay charges for credit card and check transactions.

Does the entire fee go directly to Progress Energy? Or, do I have to pay EasyPay separately?
When you pay by electronic check, Progress Energy receives an amount equal to your electric payment and EasyPay receives the $12.95 handling fee. The two charges will appear separately on your bank statement. If you are paying with a credit card, Progress Energy will receive an amount equal to your electric payment and EasyPay will receive $12.95. The two amounts will be combined and appear as a single charge on your credit card statement.

I'm not used to paying other vendors a separate fee when I use an electronic check or credit card. Why should I have to pay it now?
Other companies are able to add the price of processing to what they charge for their goods and services. As a regulated utility, we are not able to do that. By charging only the customers who use the EasyPay service the processing fee, it's a fairer way to pay for this convenient payment option. Only the customers who choose to pay through EasyPay will incur the fee. If the convenience fee could not be included as a separate charge, we would not be able to offer this additional payment option.

Can I use this EasyPay service if I am a non-residential customer and would like to make a payment of $15,500?
Yes, but there is a maximum payment amount of $10,000 per credit or debit card transaction and total credit card payments are limited to $20,000 per billing period. This means you will need to make two payments -- one payment for $10,000 and another for $5,500. There will also be a $12.95 convenience fee for each payment transaction for non-residential accounts.

Can I use EasyPay to submit payments against multiple electric accounts?
Yes, but you must submit a separate payment for each account. A convenience fee of $12.95 will be charged for each payment submitted.
