Eligibility: Only businesses, organizations, institutions, or government agencies served by Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. ("PEC") are eligible to apply. The Applicant must own the solar the solar PV system ("System") and all non-energy attributes of the System, including environmental attributes and/or the renewable energy certificates ("RECs") attributable to the amount of energy generated by the System.

Commercial customers installing solar PV may apply to be paid 18 cents per kilowatt-hour for the energy produced and the associated Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). Businesses, organizations, institutions and government agencies served by Progress Energy Carolinas in North Carolina or South Carolina are eligible to apply. In order to qualify, the proposed PV systems must be rooftop mounted and range in size from 10 kW to 250 kW (DC). The program limit is 5 MW each year.
