Progress Energy is committed to environmental stewardship and the company’s lake monitoring and shoreline management programs are designed to protect our natural resources.  The company’s lake managers monitor the lakes located on the various project lands throughout North and South Carolina. Included in this monitoring is a separate shoreline cruise for the spring, summer, fall and winter seasons of each year. These inspections are performed to ensure compliance with company and agency standards, as well as prevent any encroachments by the leaseholders and adjacent landowners to company-owned lakes.
