Progress Energy owns more than 100,000 acres of land throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.  These properties are used for various purposes ranging from plant sites, distribution and transmission substations, and operations centers.  Portions of Progress Energy land are covered by lakes, transmission lines, distribution lines or forest land.
