In 2008, the Progress Energy Foundation invested more than $6.5 million in nonprofit organizations throughout the company’s service area. The foundation’s grants are focused on specific initiatives within four strategic focus areas: education, the environment, economic development and employee involvement. Together, those initiatives form a strong foundation for the community’s and the company’s future.
