Progress Energy financially supports Energy Neighbor Fund in addition to individual contributions

Your gift can help ease the financial burden of many families who are facing crises such as sudden illness or unexpected unemployment.

One hundred percent of the funds collected from customers and employees go to helping those in need. These funds, along with an annual grant of $1 million from the Progress Energy Foundation, are distributed locally through social service agencies to our neighbors experiencing hardship. These agencies guarantee and make the payments directly to the utility or fuel distributor on behalf of the customer. The customers never receive cash.

Thanks to the generosity of our customers, employees and foundation, the Energy Neighbor Fund has helped more than 225,000 households across our states since the program began. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law to those who itemize their taxes.
