Frank Schiller was named senior vice president – Compliance and general counsel of Progress Energy in January 2009. In that role, Schiller is responsible for Progress Energy’s legal, regulatory, compliance, audit and corporate governance functions. He serves as the company’s chief compliance officer and chairs the company’s Ethics Committee.

Schiller joined Progress Energy in 1998 and has served as associate general counsel, director – Legal, and vice president – Legal. He joined the company from Virginia Electric and Power Company, where he was senior counsel. Previously, Schiller was a partner in the Raleigh law office of Hunton & Williams. He also is a graduate of Duke University and earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina where he was the research editor of the Law Review.
