Jeff Lyash is executive vice president, Corporate Development for Progress Energy.  In his role, Lyash is responsible for resource planning, program alternatives and strategic asset construction for the company.

Lyash joined Progress Energy in 1993 and spent his first eight years at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant in a number of management roles. He then served as vice president of Transmission in the Carolinas, senior vice president of Energy Delivery in Florida and most recently as president and chief executive officer, Progress Energy Florida. Before joining Progress Energy, Lyash worked with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in a number of capacities between 1984 and 1993.

Lyash earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.  He also completed Duke University’s Advanced Management Program and holds a Nuclear Regulatory Commission senior reactor operator license.
