Progress Energy Florida plans to build a new 69-kilovolt transmission line in western Orange County.

The project would begin at the existing Clarcona substation, at Apopka Vineland Road, run along McCormick Road, and end at the planned Crown Point substation, on West Road. The single, concrete poles would range from 65 to 100 feet tall.

Preliminary work, such as clearing trees and installing foundations, is scheduled to begin in March 2010. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2010. The new line and substation is expected to be operational by fall 2010. Schedules are subject to change.

As the area's population grows, the line will ensure the community continues to receive reliable electricity.

If you have questions about this project, please contact Project Manager Dan Hendricks at daniel.hendricks@pgnmail.com or by calling 1-888-250-5196. Inquiries also may be mailed to MAC NP3B, 3300 Exchange Place, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
