Yadkin Pee Dee River project (Blewett & Tillery Hydroelectric plants)
Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. (Progress Energy) also known as Carolina Power & Light, a subsidiary of Progress Energy, owns and operates the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Project (Project), located on the Yadkin-Pee Dee River in North Carolina.
The project consists of the Tillery Development and the Blewett Falls development, which have licensed capacities of 84 and 24.6 megawatts(MW) respectively.The Yadkin - Pee Dee River Project (Project No. 2206) is operated under a license issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) which expires on April 30, 2008. FERC regulations require Progress Energy to file an application to relicense the Project by April 30, 2006.
