Asheville
Units 3 and 4 of the Asheville Plant, both combustion turbines, are capable of producing a total of 324 MW of peaking power. The site, located at Skyland, N.C., also includes two steam units.

Avon Park
The two-unit, 48-MW Avon Park peaking plant is located at Avon Park, Fla.

Bartow
Located on the west shore of Tampa Bay, Fla., the Bartow Plant is comprised of a four-on-one combined cycle unit, with four gas turbines and one steam turbine, which began operation in 2009. It also houses four combustion turbine units with a combined capacity of 178 MW, which began operation in 1972.

Bayboro
The four-unit, 174-MW Bayboro peaking plant is located near St. Petersburg, Fla.

Blewett
The Blewett Plant is located near Lilesville, N.C. The site includes four combustion turbines capable of generating a total of 52 MW and has hydroelectric capability of 22 MW.

Darlington
The 13-unit, 799-MW Darlington Plant is located in Darlington County, S.C., on a site near the Robinson Plant.

DeBary
The 10-unit, 642-MW DeBary peaking plant is located at DeBary in Volusia County, Fla.

Higgins
The four-unit, 114-MW Higgins peaking plant is located near Oldsmar, Fla.

Intercession City
The 14-unit, 980-MW Intercession City peaking plant is located near Kissimmee, Fla. The first six units began operation in 1974, with additional units added in 1993,1997 and 2000.

Lee
The Lee Plant is located on the Neuse River near Goldsboro, N.C., that includes four small combustion turbines capable of producing a total of 75 MW and also houses three steam units. The company has announced plans to build a new, gas-fired 950-MW combined-cycle unit scheduled to begin operation in 2013.

Morehead City
The single-unit, 12-MW Morehead City peaking plant is located at Morehead City, N.C.

Richmond
The Richmond Plant is located near the town of Hamlet, N.C. The site includes five combustion turbines capable of generating a total of 820 MW and one combined-cycle block. A new, 600-MW combined-cycle unit is currently under construction and scheduled to begin operation in 2011.

Rio Pinar
The single-unit, 12-MW Rio Pinar Plant is located near Orlando, Fla.

Robinson
The Robinson Plant is located near Hartsville, S.C. The site includes one combustion turbine capable of generating 15 MW, as well as one nuclear unit, and a coal-fired steam unit.

Sutton
The Sutton Plant is located near Wilmington, N.C., on a site that includes three small combustion turbines capable of generating a total of 61 MW and three coal-fired steam units. The company has announced plans to build a new, gas-fired 600-MW combined-cycle unit scheduled to begin operation in 2014.

Suwannee
The Suwannee Plant, located on the banks of the Suwannee River near Live Oak, Fla., contains three oil-fired steam units and three combustion turbine units capable of generating a total of153 MW, which went into service in 1980.

Turner
The Turner Plant is located near Enterprise, Fla., and consists of four combustion turbine units capable of generating a total of 147 MW. The first two units began operation in 1970, with additional units added in 1974.

University of Florida Cogeneration
The single-unit, 46-MW University of Florida Cogeneration Plant is located at Gainesville, Fla., on the University of Florida campus.

Wayne
The 863-MW Wayne County Plant, part of the H.F. Lee Energy Complex near Goldsboro, N.C., consists of five combustion turbine units. The plant began operation in 2000 with an addition in 2009.

Weatherspoon
The Weatherspoon Plant is located near Lumberton, N.C. The site includes four combustion turbines capable of a total of 131 MW as well as three coal-fired steam units capable.
